Update concerning upcoming Services – Jan 2022

Category : Announcements

Coming to church has been more and more challenging these days. We are once again faced with another challenge—we have been directed by our host church that every person coming to church services must provide a negative corona test.

While the new rule will surely entail a lot more effort and planning, we are even more encouraged to continue to hold our Sunday worship services in the church building. We are encouraged that by seeking the Lord together, we, as a church family can honor and bless the Lord especially during this time of transition and uncertainty.

In a nutshell, here are the new rules in the coming Sundays:

1.

Everybody needs to get tested max. 24hrs before coming to church – a self-test counts.
Proof can be the test unit itself
or a picture of it.

2.

FFP2 or KN95 Mask must be worn on at all times at the church.

As we all face the on-going (and not to mention, dynamic) rules and changes in our church and even in our community, may we all look to our God who is never changing and is in control of every situation.

Church Service with 3G Rule

Category : Announcements

We praise and honor God for His guidance and protection as we continuously meet in our Sunday worship services. We are all encouraged by how each of you have graciously cooperated in fulfilling the rules set by our host church and the authorities. We are also blessed by volunteers who have been serving with and for us every Sunday. We praise God for each of you indeed!

New 3G Rule for Sunday Service

The challenge continues to be real for everyone and we acknowledge that constant volatile situation weighs on everyone’s mind and hearts. With the recent development, we have received indications from our host church, the Kreuzgemeinde, that the building usage requires us to observe the 3G rule for Sunday service for everyone above 16 year’s old, starting this Sunday.

To put it simply, you must present one of the three Gs in coming to church:

  1. geimpft (vaccination certificate)
  2. genesen (recovered)
  3. getestet* (certified negative Corona test no later than 24h prior to their entry into church)

What should I do and expect when arriving to church?

You will be met with a friendly team to quickly ease the entrance process so that you can find your seat and worship with us.

  1. As usual you will receive an invitation on Sunday mid-day to sign-in online to the church service, providing your contact details and optionally include your G-status (for retention to fast-track you on subsequent Sundays). This will greatly help our volunteers in facilitating a smooth entry process.
  2. If applicable, conduct your test at the test center
  3. Arrive to church earlier
  4. Show any of the above mentioned documents to the ushers or security team before going inside the church building.
  5. Present your online sign-in or complete your contact details

We, as a church, welcome every one of you regardless of your so-called G status.
After all, we have the most important G of all – GOD!

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

~Ephesians 4:4-6

Dr. Klaus-Dieter John: How a hospital in the Andes came into being

Diospi Suyana, when translated from the local language of Quechua means God is our hope.

Tucked in the South Peruvian Andes, Diospi Suyana Mission hospital and school in Curahuasi District serves 750,000 Quechua Indians.

The miraculous story of the hospital started out when Dr. Klaus-Dieter John and and his wife Dr. Martina John, dreamed of becoming medical missionaries in the developing world. Little did they know that their desire to reach the Incas would expand in ways that they could not have imagined. The growth of the world-class hospital including a Christian school and a media center was made possible through the God who is our Living Hope

This coming Sunday, Dr. John, who is on tour in Germany this month, will be sharing with us their testimony on how the God of hope has paved the way for them to serve and share the love of Christ to the Inca community.

We invite you to join us in our Sunday worship service to hear about God’s work in the mountains of Peru!

Feel free to download & send the invitation above (in German) to your friends.
